Transition Partners held our 2nd Business Analyst Forum in Leeds last week. Organised by our very own Elly Greaney, she managed to organise an open, friendly and welcoming environment offering some of Yorkshire’s best Business Analyst’s the opportunity to share ideas, knowledge and advice.

The Forum was based at Revolution near Millennium Square, we welcomed guest from all different organisations including Plusnet, Asda, BJSS, Callcredit, Manheim, Equifax & more.

We had two engaging Guest Speakers for the event, Amardeep from Sky began with her take on Agile and her experiences on Sky’s Agile journey. She discussed the different areas of Agile and her experiences on the Agile transformation. This sparked lots of discussion within the Group and encouraged attendee’s to ask lots of questions around challenges faced with adopting Agile into their various businesses. Amardeep delivered an engaging, interactive and insightful discussion around Agile and the benefits of adopting this methodology.

Richard Hamilton from Computershare was our second speaker for the evening; he delivered two talks around Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) and Business Process Driven Requirements. Richard’s extensive experience within Financial Services gave an insightful yet jovial outlook on the topics. Richards’s discussion around SSM, CATWOE and Root Definition sparked interest within the Group, lots of the attendees were not familiar with the Methodology released in 1975. The Business Process Driven Requirements topic discussed the importance of how business process is central to requirements engineering, this topic was very relatable with all of the attendees.

The overall evening was great fun, it was an opportunity for Business Analyst’s to meet within a relaxed, informal setting after work.

We have begun planning our next event, which we are hoping to hold in May, if you would be interested in attending please email Elly.Greaney@Transition-Partners.co.uk today with your name and contact number.
