At Transition Partners we not only promote diversity and inclusion, we live and breathe it! We are inspired by our fantastic and wonderfully diverse community.

We don’t discriminate – we celebrate uniqueness and have a team full of amazing individuals who come together to unite as one.

Transition Partners believe it is important to set goals. We want to be an organization that breaks the mould and helps people find their perfect job regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education and national origin.

Recruitment should be about cultural add, not cultural fit.

We wanted to share some statistics with you that really opened our eyes to why we, as a recruitment company, need to do more for diversity and inclusion within the workplace.

  • Currently women only make up 17% of the IT Work Force, 8% disabled and 21% are over 50
  • 83% of tech executives are white
  • There are more CEO’s named John than there are woman CEO’S
  • 2.6% of people on UK tech boards are from an ethnic minority
  • 2/3 or tech leavers say that would of stayed at their current employer if they fixed their work culture
  • People with Chinese, Indian or Pakistani sounding names are 28% less likely to be invited to interview than an English-sounding candidate
  • All BAME groups are more likely to be overqualified than white employees
  • Only 16% of Autistic adults in the UK are in full-time paid employment
  • 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ employees have left a job because of an unwelcoming environment
  • 32% of LGBTQ+ employees hide their sexuality
  • Almost a third of non-binary people (31%) and one in five trans people (18 %) don’t feel able to wear work attire representing their gender expression

So what are Transition Partners doing to make a difference?

TP member Alice Chance is now our Diversity and Inclusion advocate. Alice has set up her own vlog ‘Everyone’s Invited To My Party’ and a series of events named ‘Diversifying Digital: Bridging The Gap’.

Throughout the vlogs and event series’, Alice will be joined by various individuals who will discuss their experiences and share their stories. We hope that these stories will inspire others to promote diversity and inclusion within their workspace.

A message from our CEO and Founder Sandra Patel-Stewart

Being BAME myself it is so important for me to create a diverse and inclusive culture at Transition Partners. We want to let everyone’s voices be heard regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, age or disability and for people to feel included in a transparent environment. Transition Partners promote diversity and inclusion in all we do and love to help and collaborate with our community. I am always open to collaboration opportunities and TP are always looking to learn and improve so that we can be the best recruitment company that we can be.
