The DevOps market is experiencing substantial and continued growth. The demand for DevOps skills has skyrocketed over the past five years. Consultancy Bain & Company reported in September 2022, that DevOps job postings grew 443% between 2015 and 2019, comparable to machine learning postings but way faster than data science posts (167%) and software engineering (69%).
From start-ups to large corporates, everybody’s trying to get a built-in DevOps structure.
DevOps has been popularised over the past decade around the idea that software development can be fast, deliver business results and produce stable IT operations. It spans software development, testing, quality assurance, security and monitoring, and then deploying code to run efficiently on IT infrastructure. It’s about people, culture, tools and technology – all focused on beating the competition.
DevOps is a flourishing IT philosophy combining technical know-how with critical communication and operational skills. It can transform an organisation’s ability to deliver applications and services at pace and scale. As well as a tech phenomenon, it’s now a strong career prospect, open to a broad range of IT professionals and those with process-oriented backgrounds.
As more organisations and industries experience growth across major German cities, there will be a domino effect as these candidates’ value and time efficiency come to the fore.
Organisations that had once stalled or stopped hiring are now looking to fill those gaps, and new ones too, as the economy unlocks, and organisations need the skills of DevOps Engineers to get projects moving.
It is currently an area that is experiencing high demand, with too little supply to keep pace. Fundamentally, there’s a real issue with high-quality sourcing candidates.
The role of specialists to help to secure the right candidate, away from the most visible talent pools, has never been more critical for organisations seeking the best engineers.
