Transition Partners met the amazing Sherin Mathew a number of years ago thanks to the lovely Rheanne Smith. Sherin founded AI Tech North back in 2017 to discuss Innovations, Data Trends, Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
Over the years we have partnered with AI Tech North for a number of AI / ML meetups in Leeds alongside Microsoft. So when our good friend Sherin mentioned his ambitious plans of organising the first large scale AI Conference in the North, we couldn’t wait to get involved!
It was our first time sponsoring such a large event and to be honest – we had no idea what to expect but:
We knew the concept was exciting – Who wouldn’t want to learn more about AI & ML?!
We knew the Partners were fab – Mastek, Panintelligence, Infinity Works etc.
We knew the venue / location was great – Why on earth wouldn’t you want to come to Leeds?!
…. We also know Saturdays in the sunshine are precious so we still had some reservations.
But boy oh boy were we in for a treat!!!!
Friday Night:
5PM – Megan (Social Media / Events Manager) & myself set up our corner in the Palm Court at the Queens Hotel, we brought along visuals, TP Merch and some goodies.
6PM Onwards – We were lucky enough to be invited to the VIP Networking event, here I enjoyed some great company with all sorts of exciting individuals and a few glasses of vino.
9PM – I ordered my Uber and headed home for the night as I knew Saturday was going to be a long day!
Saturday:
8AM – The doors opened and the first TP Team members to man the stall were Sandra (our Founder) & Emma (Accounts Director)
9AM – Our beautiful personalised cupcakes by Mcgivern Bakes were dropped off & Sandra listened to Sherin Matthews opening speech
9:15AM – Sandra & Emma listened to Zandra Moores inspiring discussion about AI Being the fourth industrial revolution
9:30AM – Our stand really started to fill up, we had visits from friends of TP & Data / AI Enthusiasts looking for their next exciting opportunity within the Yorkshire market.
10AM – I arrived and started networking and spent some quality time with some new AI friends of mine from the night before
12:30PM – A lovely lunch was provided by AI Tech North
1PM – Our lovely Max (Recruitment Consultant) & Rose (Recruitment Business Manager) arrived to help, all hands on deck!
1:15PM – Gordon Cullum from Mastek delivered an interesting talk on how Mastek are utilising AI Technologies for their clients
1:30PM – The ever amazing Sara Simeone from Digital Oracles taught us all about ML & Blockchain in Digital Marketing
2:30PM – We had consumed 75% of our Cupcakes and the sugar was kicking in
3:10PM – Max & Rose enjoyed the “If you could tell just one thing about AI” Forum
4PM – Sherin rounded the event off nicely with an emotional and sincere speech thanking all the partners & attendees for an amazing event
4:05PM – We heard the BIG PLANS for AI Tech North 2020!!! “The Summit”
5PM – Team TP crashed with a belly full of cupcakes and a drink or 2 celebrate a successful weekend!
Transition Partners cannot wait to be a part of the 2020 plans and we are looking forward to arranging some pre events ahead of July 2020 with Sherin and his team.
We want to thank everyone who came to our stand, introduced themselves and supported us throughout the day.
