Senior Database Administrator (Oracle/Microsoft)

Location: Essen (2 days onsite per week)

Role Overview:

As a Senior DBA, you will play a critical role in monitoring system performance, providing technical support to colleagues, and ensuring the overall health of the database systems. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, database maintenance, performance tuning, and optimisation. Additionally, you will contribute to cross-functional teams and help guide the organisation’s data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer technical guidance and support to colleagues
• Monitor and troubleshoot database systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
• Conduct performance tuning, including query optimisation, indexing, and locking
• Review and maintain database systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively
• Manage and transform large, multi-dimensional datasets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions

Key Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL systems
• Advanced skills in performance tuning, including query optimisation and indexing
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience working with large datasets and transforming data structures
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in cross-functional teams
